Air Duct & Vent Cleaning · Jupiter, FL

Every breath in your home passes through your ductwork.

Your air conditioning system recirculates the air in your home many times a day. Whatever has accumulated inside the duct system — dust, pet dander, construction debris, pollen, and in humid climates, biological growth — gets carried back into the rooms every time it runs.

Most duct cleaning advertised for a low flat price is a vacuum hose pushed into a register. That reaches the first couple of feet. Material bonded to the duct walls further in stays exactly where it was.

We use a Rotobrush system: a rotating brush head travels through the ductwork to mechanically agitate and dislodge material from the duct walls, while HEPA-filtered vacuum extraction captures what is loosened at the same time. It reaches the parts of the system that matter.

Why duct systems in Palm Beach County collect more than dust

In a dry climate, duct contamination is mostly dust and debris. In Jupiter and coastal Palm Beach County, ductwork also contends with humidity. Cool air moving through ducts in a hot attic can drive condensation where insulation is damaged or where ducts have gaps, and the air handler produces condensate continuously by design.

Combine moisture with the dust and organic debris that accumulate in any duct system, and you get conditions that can support biological growth — most often near the air handler, in the return plenum, and in sections of ductwork with damaged insulation.

That is why we always look at the air handler and condensate drainage as part of a duct cleaning. Cleaning the ducts while a clogged drain pan keeps feeding the problem at the source is wasted effort.

What to watch out for with duct cleaning offers

Duct cleaning is an industry with a reputation problem, mostly caused by low-price flat-rate offers. The typical pattern is a very low advertised price that turns out to cover a token amount of work, followed by upselling once the technician is inside the home.

A legitimate duct cleaning addresses the whole system: supply runs, return runs, registers, grilles, and the return plenum, using mechanical agitation along with extraction. Suction through a register opening without agitation leaves bonded material in place. Ask any company how they agitate the duct surfaces, and whether their vacuum is HEPA-filtered.

We scope the work honestly. If your ducts do not need cleaning, we will tell you that. If they are damaged beyond cleaning — badly deteriorated flex duct, for example — we will tell you that too, because cleaning a duct that should be replaced is not money well spent.

Duct cleaning as part of mold remediation

When mold remediation happens in a home, the HVAC system is one of the first concerns. If the system was running in or near an affected area, spores and fragments can be drawn into the return and distributed through the ductwork.

Cleaning the ductwork after remediation prevents the system from recontaminating spaces that were just cleaned. We coordinate duct cleaning with remediation scope, often as the final step, so the system is clean when the home goes back into normal use.

Duct cleaning on its own is not a mold treatment. If there is growth inside the home, the source has to be addressed first. Cleaning ducts before addressing the source just means the system becomes contaminated again.

Know the Signs

When duct cleaning makes sense

Duct cleaning is not something every home needs every year. These situations warrant it.

Visible debris at registers

Dust or debris blowing from supply vents, or buildup visible on register faces.

Musty smell when AC runs

Odor arriving with the airflow points to the air handler or duct system.

After a remediation

Ductwork in or near an affected area should be addressed so it does not redistribute contamination.

After renovation

Drywall dust and construction debris settle into ductwork during remodeling.

Moving into a new home

You do not know what the previous occupants’ pets, smoking, or maintenance habits left behind.

Pets or heavy dust

Homes with multiple pets or high dust loads accumulate material faster.

How It Works

Our duct cleaning process

Inspect, clean the system as a whole, and verify the result.

1

Inspect

Camera inspection of ductwork and evaluation of the air handler, coil, and drain pan.

2

Protect

Cover floors and furnishings at work areas and set the system for cleaning.

3

Agitate & extract

Run the Rotobrush through supply and return lines with HEPA vacuum extraction.

4

Clean registers & grilles

Remove and clean supply registers and return grilles.

5

Address the air handler

Evaluate and clean accessible air handler components and the return plenum.

6

Verify

Post-cleaning inspection so you can see the difference.

Clean air starts at the source

A clean duct system means the air your HVAC moves through your home stays clean.

The Rotobrush Difference

Why mechanical agitation matters

Suction alone does not remove material bonded to the duct walls.

Rotating brush agitation

The brush head physically scrubs duct walls to break loose bonded debris.

Simultaneous extraction

Loosened material is pulled out immediately rather than settling further down the line.

HEPA filtration

Captured debris is filtered so it is not exhausted back into your home.

Reaches deep into runs

Travels through branch lines rather than stopping at the register opening.

Works on multiple duct types

Brush heads are selected for sheet metal, duct board, or flex duct.

Inspection capability

Camera inspection lets us see the condition of the ducts before and after.

Common Questions

Air Duct & Vent Cleaning FAQs

Straight answers to what Palm Beach County homeowners ask us most.

How often should air ducts be cleaned?

There is no universal schedule, and anyone telling you every home needs it annually is selling something. Ducts in a well-maintained system with good filtration can go years without needing cleaning.

It makes sense when there is a specific reason: visible debris, a musty odor from the system, after renovation or remediation, after moving into a home with an unknown history, or in households with pets or heavy dust.

What is a Rotobrush and why does it matter?

A Rotobrush is a duct cleaning system that combines a rotating brush head with vacuum extraction. The brush travels through the duct run, mechanically scrubbing debris loose from the duct walls, while the vacuum captures it in the same pass.

It matters because suction alone mostly removes loose material. Dust and debris that have bonded to duct surfaces over time need physical agitation to remove, and the brush provides that agitation through the length of the run rather than only near the register.

Will duct cleaning fix a musty smell?

Sometimes, if the odor is coming from accumulated contamination in the ducts. Often, though, a musty smell from the AC traces back to the air handler — a clogged condensate drain, a dirty coil, or a saturated filter rack.

That is why we evaluate the air handler during every duct cleaning. Cleaning the ducts without addressing an air handler problem means the odor returns.

How long does duct cleaning take?

Most residential duct cleanings take several hours, depending on the size of the home, the number of supply and return runs, and the condition of the system. Homes with multiple air handlers take longer.

Can flex duct be cleaned?

Flexible duct can be cleaned with the appropriate brush heads, used carefully so the inner liner is not damaged. Older flex duct that has deteriorated, sagged, collapsed, or torn is often better replaced than cleaned.

Our camera inspection shows the condition of the duct, so you can make that decision based on what is actually there.
